This model is recommended for measuring total oil a
nd grease
( TOG) and total petroleum hydrocarbon ( TPH) levels
in water and
soils, as well as fats, oil and grease ( FOG) in was
tewater when
using hexane, pentane or Vetrel MCA as the extracti
ng solvent. The
solvent extract is evaporated and the residual oil
is measured—
much like EPA Method 1664.
Note: Light end volatile
components will be lost in the extraction process.
The analyzer
is equipped with a built-in cubic zirconia horizont
al attenuated total
reflection ( HATR) sample stage.
